ASK-EA and NOVT4000 in renovated command rooms

Modern firefighting units are no longer equipped only with vehicles and tools – digital solutions that enable fast, transparent, and secure intervention management are becoming essential.

In the magazine Gasilec, recent technological upgrades of two important firefighting centers were featured – the command room of the Maribor Fire Brigade and the control room of PGD Cerklje. These solutions highlight how Slovenian firefighting is increasingly relying on digital tools and modern communication technologies for more effective intervention management.

At GB Maribor, the command room is purposefully divided according to tasks. In the area where operators work, field activities are monitored, communication with units is managed, and the course of interventions is recorded. For this, they use:

• the EmergencyAssist application (ASK-EA),

• a tracking system,

• and a traditional phone connection.

At PGD Cerklje, the control room was renovated and equipped with a NOVT4000 dispatch terminal (link) – a robust and powerful device that now serves as the unit’s central communication hub.

As the first fire department in Slovenia, they had the opportunity in 2023 to use the intervention management upgrade system for large-scale events – EA-HQ Štab. This solution proved to be an indispensable tool for coordinating complex interventions involving multiple simultaneous incidents. The system enabled a comprehensive situational overview, faster response, and more efficient resource allocation – key advantages when every second counts.
